Flat Screens: LCD or Plasma?

Choosing a flat screen must first be based on your usage.

Where will be your TV?

What will be the size of the room?

Or do you want to use the TV for viewing photos or connect a games console?

Or finally just watching TV channels or organize a cinema meeting?

So what are the criteria of your choice and depending on the answer, what screen size to choose?

The organization of the piece determines the position of the spectators and thus the distance from the image. Generally, you must be between 2.5 to 3 times the diagonal of the screen to determine the decline in order to get a good display quality and does'nt strain the eyes.

But which technology to choose? LCD or Plasma?

LCD Technology: For everyday use like watching TV news, variety shows, classic stories or children's programs, the LCD screen is more appropriate. You can also easily connect to a computer or connect a games console. In ambient light, the LCD offers better image quality.

Plasma technology: If you want to use your screen for cinema sessions, the Plasma is better. The image quality will be better if you remain in relative darkness or even better in complete darkness. Regarding the duration of life, it is the same for LCD and Plasma.

LCD or Plasma and High Definition.

The definition of an image is expressed in pixels or lines whom the assembly permit the display of the video image. Depending on the format, 720 pixels for standard "HD Ready" or 1080 pixels for the "Full HD". High Definition offers 2-5 times more detail than before. The more you have pixels, the more visual information will be rich, ensuring better quality and fluidity of the image.

Flat Screen LCD or Plasma with built-in Hard Disk.

Some manufacturers include a hard disk in flat screens TVs without increasing the thickness of the screen. This hard drive can record many hours of digital quality programs.
