The world is changing very fast. Big will not beat small anymore. It will be the fast beating the slow.

One of the fastest ways to get highly targeted traffic is by using pay per click (PPC) marketing, such as the popular Google AdWords.
Here’s how it works…
Instead of paying to place your ad, you pay only when someone clicks on your ad. You “bid” on a keyword in your niche, which means your ad appears whenever someone searches for that keyword. You pay an amount equal to or less than your bid amount whenever someone clicks on your ad.
I Hope That, you already know that you need to create compelling ads that get clicks. And you need to create compelling landing pages that convert your browsers into subscribers. But the other part of your PPC success hinges on the keywords you choose.
Here’s why…
If you choose broad keywords, then you’ll get a broad market seeing your ads. If the audience isn’t targeted, you won’t get very many clicks – and Google may slide your ad down the list and perhaps even disable it until you improve your
CTR (click through rate). If these untargeted people DO click on your ads, then the other problem you’ll encounter is a low conversion rate. That means you’re wasting your ad money if no one is signing up for your newsletter.
The solution? Choose focused, targeted words so that you know almost exactly what the searcher wants. For example, let’s suppose a shoe seller bid on the keyword “shoes.” That’s a poor keyword, because you have no idea what the searcher wants. Does he want to read about shoes or buy shoes? Does he want to learn more about the book “The Christmas Shoes?” Does he want to learn more about what it means when people throw their shoes at another?
Point is, we can’t tell. To remedy that, you need to choose narrow words such as brand names (like “men’s Nike Shox shoes”) and phrases that indicate the person is a buyer (like “buy men’s Nike Shox shoes”). Generally the more specific your keywords, the higher your conversion
rate.

Here’s how to get started with AdWords:

1. Go to http://adwords.google.com and register for your account.

2. Use Google’s free keyword selector tool to find targeted, specific keywords. You’ll also want to find and use “geo targeted” phrases (such as using your city, region or state alongside your product or service keywords).

3. Create your pay per click ad, being sure to use a compelling headline and an ad body that gives people a reason to click through to your landing page.

4. Choose your maximum bid amount and your maximum daily budget (keep both of these low when you’re just starting out – when you’ve found ads and keywords that convert well, then increase your budget).

5. Finally, be sure to test your ads, keywords and campaigns using Google’s free tool (Google Analytics).

PPC marketing is fast. You can start pulling in traffic within minutes or hours after you set up your first ad. And it can be highly targeted when you use specific, focused keywords.
You can even use it to crush your local competition by using geo-targeted keywords (like, “[your city] [type of product or brand name of product]”). That’s because people often do their product research online, but then go offline to purchase the product (due to instant gratification).
