Different Ways To Online Marketing Success
70Everyone claims you can make money online. And yet if you’ve never actually done it (yet), it seems like a fairytale. It seems too easy. It seems too good to be true.
Here’s the real scoop: You CAN make money online. Yes, you. Even if you’ve never done it before. Even if you have no idea where to start.
Six different ways to make money online...
Figure out which one will best put you on your path to online marketing success.
Let’s get started…
Making Money With Affiliate Marketing
Here’s how affiliate
marketing works… Let’s suppose you’re marketing to dog owners. You
haven’t yet created a product (and maybe you don’t plan on creating
one), but you have a list of subscribers and an active blog. How do you
make money? Simple: You promote other marketers’ products in exchange
for a cut of the profits. You become their affiliate (AKA associate) and
earn anywhere from 5% to 20% (for physical products like books or
computers) to 50%, 75% or even 100% of the profits for downloadable
products (like ebooks).
The main advantage of making money as an affiliate marketer is that you don’t have to deal with the usual hassles, including:
•Product creation:
You don’t have to put in the time to create products yourself (or put
in the money to have someone else create them). And that also means you
get to skip out on the other details like creating sales letters (which
can run upwards of $2500, $5000 or
more to hire a professional copywriter).
•Customer service: You don’t have to handle money, issue refunds, deliver the product or answer the endless stream of customer service inquiries.
So what’s the downside? Just this: It’s actually more profitable to create your own products.
For
example, instead of being one of dozens, hundreds or even thousands of
affiliates for a particular product, if you own the product you have
dozens, hundreds or even thousands of people helping you sell it. And
you can see why that would be more profitable.
Now regardless of
whether you go out and create your own products yourself, you can and
should learn everything you can about affiliate marketing. And that’s
because once you start building your prospect and customer lists, you’ll
find that your customers are so hungry for products that you can’t make
products fast enough to satisfy their insatiable appetites.
Solution: Sell other people’s products and pocket a nice chunk of the profits.
Making Money With Your Own Blog
I
mentioned just a moment ago that you can make money selling affiliate
products through your busy blog. But that’s just one tiny way to make
money with a blog. Here are a few other ways:
•Make money with AdSense ads. You get cash every time someone merely clicks on one of these ads.
•CPA
(cost per action) offers. Here you make money when one of your visitors
fills out a form or takes some other specified action. You don’t have
to sell anything – other than “selling” someone on filling out a free
form.
•Making money with your own products. (Obviously.)
•Making money selling ad space or links on your blog.
•Using your blog as a springboard for other opportunities, like getting a cash advance to publish a book.
In
other words, your blog can make it easier for you to make money using
any of the methods you’ll learn about in this report. Plus the blog has
the added advantage of establishing you as an expert and building your
credibility, both of which lead to things like book deals, publicity on
radio or talk shows, newspaper columns and similar.
So
what’s the downside? Commitment. If you decide to write an ebook, you
sit down for several days, weeks or months and just get it done. But
when you decide to write a blog, you’re essentially making a commitment
to update the site regularly well into the foreseeable future. And that
means either you need to do the writing yourself, or you need to farm it
out… but either way, it’s a commitment (albeit a lucrative one).
What if you get bored with your blog?
Here’s an idea…
Making Money With Site Flipping
Site
flipping refers to buying sites and “flipping” them for a quick profit,
in exactly the same way that real estate investors “flip” houses. That
is, you can buy a site, spruce it up a bit to make it more profitable,
and resell it for a nice profit.
TIP : Building web sites or blogs
from scratch and quickly selling them is also referred to as site
flipping. In other words, you don’t necessarily need to buy sites in
order to make money with this strategy.
The advantage of this model
is that you can make quite a bit of money per flip (especially once you
develop a customer list and you’re experienced). For example, you may
buy a site for a couple hundred dollars, build some backlinks and tweak
the content…and later sell it for a few thousand dollars.
The
downside of this model is that you need to have certain skills in place
before you can sell “ready made” sites to others – which means this
isn’t the best model for a beginner. That’s because you need to know how
to do market research and how to monetize under-performing sites. But
once you learn those skills, site flipping becomes lucrative.
Here’s a related way to make money…
Making Money With Domain Flipping
Just
as the name implies, you make money with this method by buying domain
names and reselling them for a profit. You can buy domain names on
forums and auctions from other wholesalers, you can buy dropped
(expired) domain names and you can even hand-register
domain names. Here’s the key: You need to know what’s hot… or what topics and niches
will
soon be in-demand. For example, when unusual news events come up,
domainers snap up related domain names for less than $10. Then they turn
around and sell them for anywhere from $15 or $20 to thousands of
dollars. In other cases, domainers look for hot domain names in
evergreen niches such as weight loss, marketing, business, making money,
credit cards, loans and similar.
Often the best names can’t be
registered by hand, but they can be snapped up on domain name forums and
auctions (including eBay). You can flip domains immediately, especially
if they’re in-demand domains. Otherwise, you can hold onto them to
“age” them. If you get backlinks pointing to them to build their Google
Page Rank – or if there is any traffic naturally
flowing to them – they’re even more valuable.
TIP
: You can make money with these names by “parking” them on sites like
Sedo.com. Sedo will put ads on your domain name and split the profits
with you. Meanwhile, they’ll market your domain name to help you sell
it.
The advantage of this money-making strategy is that you don’t
have to create anything in order to make money. You don’t need traffic,
you don’t need a blog, you don’t need a list. You also don’t have to put
any time into creating anything (other than the time you take to
research the domain). That means you could find a domain today and sell
it for a profit with as little as
$10 and a few minutes invested in this venture.
The
downside is that here again you do need to understand how to do market
research. Some people drop hundreds and even thousands of dollars on
domain names that are absolutely worthless. You need to know what your
market (people who buy domain names) want – and you need to know what
makes a name a GOOD name.
Now let’s look at how to make money without selling anything…
Making Money With Google AdSense
I
mentioned this just a bit earlier in the report. Now let me explain it…
Advertisers buy ads that show up whenever someone searches for their
keywords in Google’s search engine. This is referred to as pay per click
marketing. But Google also has a program where they allow advertisers
to place ads on content sites – like YOUR blog.
Let’s suppose you
have a blog about hair styling. If you allowed Google AdSense ads on
your blog, then hair-related ads would show up. And every time one of
your visitors clicked on an ad, you make anywhere from a few pennies to a
few dollars per click.
Here’s the big advantage: You don’t have to
sell a thing. You don’t have to do handstands trying to convince your
visitors to buy a product. All you have to do is put the ads in front of
them so that you can get cash for their clicks. It’s easy. But there’s a
downside as well: This method is generally a lesser profit, “last
resort” method of making money with a website or blog. That’s because if
you’re pulling in targeted traffic, you should be able to make MORE
money with affiliate marketing (and certainly by selling your own
products).
Now let’s look at one more way to make money online. I’ve saved the best for last…
Making Money With Your Own Information Products
This is where you create and sell your own ebooks, videos, audios and similar products.
Here’s the big advantage: It’s profitable. Really profitable.
That’s
because you’ll make more money selling your own product rather than
selling anyone else’s product, getting cash for clicks or similar. And
because you get to build the customer list, you can make more money
tapping this list any time you want.
Think about it… If you place a pay per click or classified ad for an affiliate product, you get an
average
50% commission (part of which will go to pay for your ad expenses). But
when you create your own product, you pay the same amount for ad
expenses… BUT you get to keep 100% of the profits!
The downside?
Product creation and customer service hassles. Those issues are 100%
your responsibility when you’re the product creator. If your customer
doesn’t know how to download and read a PDF file, it’s your job to make
sure she can access your product. If she thinks your product stinks,
you’re the one handing out the refund. And if she decides to pirate your
ebook and sell it herself, it’s your job to track her down. But
don’t let any of that put you off of the idea of creating your own
product. Believe me, you’ll be paid VERY well to deal with these issues.
TIP
: Indeed, you’ll be paid so well that you can hire someone ELSE to deal
with them! Just go to eLance.com to find a reliable, professional
freelancer to deal with all your product creation and customer service
needs!
The other potential downside is the amount of knowledge that’s required to make this a profitable venture.
You
see, making and selling your own products is like putting a jigsaw
puzzle together. You have several pieces spread out in front of you, but
you need to figure out how they fit together. But once you start
snapping those pieces together, you can kiss your day job and your boss
goodbye.
No matter what your personal preferences are, there’s a way for you to make money online.
And
because many of these money-making strategies share an underlying
foundation (such as building a targeted list), once you know how to make
money with one strategy you can easily make money with the other
strategies.
